Shawn was born and rasied in Burlington, attended Burlington public schools and UVM, and graduated Johnson State College with a BA in English.

He was a manager and promoter of area bands in the early 80's and a small business owner in downtown Burlington for many years. Shawn has been a licesned Real Estate Agent for the past 19 years and is currently employed as a saleperson with Cannizzaro Real Estate in So. Burlington, VT.

He has been an active member of the Burlington area recovery community since 1986, and has been a Regional Leader and Hyde Alumini Parent Association (HAPA) volunteer for the Hyde Schools of Bath, Maine and Woodstock, CT, a family based chacater education private school, since 2002.

He has 2 children, son, Tipton, 23, and daughter, Bryn, 18 a senior at the Hyde School.

Shawn has been a Board member since July, 2009.
